Weekend Wrap Up

Boy are we glad that weekend is over! I had to work this weekend helping Mommy measure for new window blinds...
For some reason she didn't think I was too helpful. Whatever. I also spent quiet, relaxing time with my little sisfur Angel in an attempt to keep her calm...
That worked for awhile until the kids next door, who had been gone all week, came home Saturday afternoon and shot fireworks off all evening. Mommy gave Angel Rescue Remedy throughout the day but by 10pm Angel was laying so flat on the floor it was like she was melting into it and she was shaking like a leaf. Mommy's heart was breaking because there was nothing she could do except try to comfort her. Angel eventually ran downstairs and Mommy fell asleep so when Angel tap, tap, tapped on her forehead at midnight wanting treats, Mommy had never been so happy to be woke up in the middle of the night! She wasn't quite so happy when Angel woke her up at 5am for breakfast but still, she was glad Angel was better. It's a good thing she's cute huh? Just so you know, I slept through everything except breakfast.

Anyway, we're glad that day is over for another year. We realize Independence Day is certainly one to celebrate and we do love being Americats but sheesh, it sure is awful what my little sisfur goes through.

Did you have a nice weekend?

Hope your week is off to a great start!

I had an amazing weekend! For one thing, the fireworks weren't near here, so the noise wasn't so bad. For another thing, every time there was anything even remotely loud, I got treats or playtime! I could totally get used to this Independence Day thing... except my human says it was a lot of work!

Aw poor Angel. It's no fun when the celebration is scary.

With the windows closed, the a/c on and the rain - not much in the way of booms here - Feel so bad for Angel...poor fluffy little thing.

I linked Angel to Awww Mondays today Isabella. I did that because she had a rough weekend like our Little Bit did. I'm just glad it was only Saturday night for Little Bit. It was quiet last night.

Have a purrfect day you two. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥♥♥

4th of July is too hard for all of us noise sensitive beings.

Ciara would totally agree - a great day to celebrate, but let's find a quieter way - it was so stressful fo rher, and each night keeps bringing more boomers. Will they ever empty their supply???

Oh Angel, we are so sorry that you had such a rough time on Saturday. Those booming things sure are scary. Good thing they won't be going off again anytime soon!

It sure looks like you did a great job measuring.

There are definitely ups and downs to the holiday! Ours was mostly good, with a few little disappointments, but overall a good one!

We so glad the holiday is over now too. Me and Wally weren't too bothered by the boomers but Zoey was kinda freaked out and hid under the sofa. The mom finally put her in the bedroom and closed all the windows to try to calm her but it still was pretty loud. ~Ernie

Those fireworks can be so loud!! We have a fire band here in Saskatchewan (including setting off fireworks) due to all the forest fires up North. So smokey - even in the Southwest corner where we live!
Glad you kitties made it through the weekend though.
Wishing you a most wonderful July!

Is there a cat sitter where she could go next year? ... maybe an overnight visit ?.... does she travel well?... maybe that would work out okay.....

We feel so badly for Angel. We never get too bothered by the fireworks, even the ones set off by neighbors. We are used to lots of noise in our neighborhood from leaf blowers, power lawnmowers, garbage trucks, loud cars and our loud neighbors. We don't enjoy any of it, but we don't freak out. For Angel's sake we are glad it is over for another year as well. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
