The Tale of a Toy with No Tail!

As is evident from yesterday's post, our cats have plenty of toys but Angel has a favorite cat toy that she plays with all the time. It's a mouse that my cat Panther had from years ago that Angel found soon after we adopted her as a kitten. Since then it has been all over this house and under every piece of furniture and also every door we have. Here is Angel's most favorite toy:
As you can tell, it's missing a tail and looking pretty shabby so we searched high and low for a replacement but couldn't find one anywhere. I even sent pictures to my mom in Las Vegas and had her search for one. One day we happened to walk into a store in Lincoln City, OR that sold all things for pets and lo and behold they had the mouse! It's actually a rat - Rosie Rat to be exact!
It actually has hair and a tail! Even with a brand new Rosie Rat, she won't give up the old one. It'll go missing for weeks and we think it's finally gone but it'll show up some morning after a night of playing. Do your kitties have a most favorite toy?

We think we could enjoy the new rat and the old rat, Angel!

My favorite toy is a lizard. A real live lizard, one that I caught my very own self. I make Mom chase me all over the house while I crouch really low and growl. No taking my lizard, Mom! -Gandalf

Old toys are gold! Sometimes kitties find the oddest toys ~ ours like to play with matts that sometimes appear in the floofy hair of our alpha cat Snow and fall off...they hold it in their mouth and growl and don't let go easily!

that's a really cool toy! Chica's and Pumuckl's all time favorites are strings - in all variations. Pumuckl also loves to steal my things and make them his special toys :-)

One of my cats EATS his toys. We have to be very careful with what we give him.

Gandalf - a real live lizard? Now that's the ultimate toy!

cats - how funny that a matted piece of hair would become a toy!

ana - strings are fun around here too!

susan - I hadn't ever considered that toys could be eaten! Kitties sure keep us on our toes!

Daisy - yep, it's loved to death but unfortunately we haven't been able to dispose of it yet!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...my montra for your blog!

Too funny how hard you looked just so she could have a brand new rat toy and after all of that, she still needs her funky old one.

My cats favorite toy(s). Pickles toy is our dog. And she loves hair ties, twist ties, and bottle caps.

Pixie and Pickles run back and forth after each other like Pickles and the dog (Blondie Love) do.

Everyone like the whip like toy with the feathers dangling from the end of a string. You should see all of their heads turning back and forth all at the same time when I swing it!

My furchild loves her "bird" It's a little fleece ball with a bunch of turkey feathers as a tail. She loves to clean those feathers! I bet she'd love that lovely rat!

Yeah, we've uhh... had to pump his stomach. He's the same breed as Daisy; that explains a lot.

Rosie Rat is Sniffie's favorite toy. She loves to put it in the water dish (which makes it really lovely icky looking!)

I like that Rosie Rat! I have a squirrel that I LOVE to play basketball with, and sometimes I score two points in the human litter box!

That is such a neat toy. If you can find it anywhere else could you please let me know? Koko would love this.

My sister's cat has a toy like that--she discovered it was her cat's favorite when she threw it away once and discovered it back on the floor--she threw it away again, thinking it was just a fluke, and again it was saved by her kitty--then she gave up and just lets her keep the raggedy bit of fluff that;'s left--lol

A good friend of our mom's just gave us a scratching post that is really tall and we love playing with that. Right now it is our most favorite toy ever.
